E-Learning for Newbies, Beginners and the Confused

Does reading an e-learning blog result in more questions than answers? Does reviewing descriptions of conference sessions make you wonder what language they are written in? Do acronyms such as SCORM, LMS, and LCMS make you dizzy? If so, then this session is for you. It can be challenging to understand e-learning information without a baseline of knowledge. This session is designed to give you that foundation so you can understand everything else you see, hear, and read. So bring all your questions (yes, even the ones you are afraid to ask), and get the answers you need so that all the other sessions will make sense.

    Self-healing systems

We can think of computer systems as human bodies, comprised of cells of various types. In computer systems, these “cells” can be hardware or software, and they can behave in similar ways to cells observed in a human body. Software units can be made with the ability to self-heal. Self-healing can be applied to almost any type of architecture but provides best results when combined with microservices; in general, the smaller software units are, the easier it is for them to self-heal, recuperate from failures, multiply, or even be destroyed if needed. Viktor Farcic explores the practices and tools required to set up fully autonomous self-healing systems capable of both reactive recuperation from failures and proactive prediction of steps that should be taken to prevent failures before they happen.

ARE YOU READY TO CRAFT A COMPELLING ‘WHY’ FOR YOUR CHANGE?

We are great at explaining the ‘what’ of a change project or initiative, but we often don’t focus on the one message that inspires people to take action – the ‘why’ of the change. As a result, people don’t commit to the change and may focus narrowly on how it will impact them. In this interactive webinar, we will apply a simple model for crafting a compelling ‘why’ for your change that will get you thinking, communicating, and engaging your organization in a new and powerful way. We will also explore the use of storytelling to communicate your ‘why’ on an emotional and personal level.

The webinar will include time for you to begin crafting your ‘why’ and engage with other participants who are doing the same. Come with a change in mind to work on during the webinar.

Create Beautiful Reports on Project Desktop with Tools Other Than Just Project!

Even though Project Pro for Office 365 is available through a monthly subscription, there are many companies and individuals who still use old versions of MS Project (Project 2010, Project 2007 and – believe or not – Project 2003) to track their schedules. All these people sometimes struggle on trying to create reports to quickly understand their project performance, once the reporting mechanism in old versions of the software is not as good as the mechanism that was introduced with the launch of Project 2013.

What most people do not know is that it is possible to export data from MS Project to a MS Access database. By doing this, we can then connect to the database with MS Excel and create beautiful, interactive dashboards, getting quick insights of the key project information. Also, this approach provides the user with the ability of keeping the report up-to-date, and also to reproduce the report for other projects if needed.
